Catherine Lawes, Diploma of Architecture, is an award winning Textile Artist, Quilter and Designer in Marlborough, New Zealand.  She will be returning to live in England from December 2012.

Inspired By Nature

Catherine uses many glorious fabrics and stitch techniques to create individual pieces of decorative, functional and wearable art.  Her works illustrate her abstract style which she collages to achieve a painterly effect.  Inspiration comes from the intricate patterns and textures, colour and play of light found in nature.  Through the use of many different materials the feelings and emotions generated by a scene are captured.
