How is blogging related to creativity, in your opinion?

Blogging opens up a whole new world for creativity! You are your own boss and can craft posts about whatever your heart desires. Whenever ideas strike, I’ll jot them down on my phone. I enjoy being creative with food the most. Creating recipes and photographing food has become a passion of mine. My mind is always going for new things to share on my blog. Now finding the time to write all these posts…now that’s another story!

What led you to start your blog?

I started my blog in 2008 as basically something to do while my kids were in school. I left my full-time job as an accountant in 2007 due to health issues and was needing a hobby and something that I could do just for me. I discovered the blogosphere and was instantly hooked. I love the community and meeting new people from all over the USA & Canada. I didn’t start it to make money, but it eventually grew into a full-time job. It’s been a dream come true. I don’t miss accounting one bit!

What do you like most/least about blogging?Stacie Vaughan

I love working from home and being my own boss. The blogging community is fantastic. Some of my best friends are people I met through my blog.

What I dislike is the jealousy and pettiness of some bloggers. I always believe in trying to help people, but there’s some out there who want to see you fail. My advice is don’t pay them any attention. You can’t control what others think or do. You can only control how you respond so I just don’t! I think those type of people are in any workplace though. I had a few of them in my past accounting jobs!

Do you have any advice for those who’d like to start a blog or are beginners?

Start a blog because you enjoy it and not to make money. Write about things you love and are passionate about. Network with other bloggers and don’t be afraid to ask for help. You can find tons of info on blogging online and I encourage you to learn as much as you can. Never stop learning and growing. Post consistently and be active on Social Media. Most of all, keep at it!
