Art Journal Inspiration

Sophisticated Journaling
When I was young, my Mom and Grandma told me how Victorian ladies used to save greeting cards, poems, and other ephemera. They would spend hours cutting and gluing these snippets in a memory album. It sounded wonderful to me, so I started my own – in an inexpensive blank notebook with a Scotty Dog on the front (I still have it…if I can find it, I’ll post a picture of it here!)
Every few years I run across the Scotty Dog notebook and it brings back so many memories when I flip through it. (It was begun in grade school and I continued it through high school.) And I always wanted to start another one, but I just ramped up the idea and started scrapbooking! Lately I have gone to digital scrapbooking and I love that, too, but I never grew out of cutting and pasting! I see supplies and blog posts about art journals often these days, and I am tempted to start (yet another) artsy craft. I supposed these are just a more sophisticated version of what I started in grad
