Budding Jewels
I have been interested in arts and crafts ever since high school where I took a class called Textile Design. Each marking period we designed and made an item using a different type of craft method. Since then I have always had my hand in some project – I enjoy crochet, knit, macrame, sewing, quilting, embroidery, crewel, and counted cross stitch. (And I have dabbled in many other crafts!)
My latest passion is jewelry making. I attended an at-home jewelry making party at my friend’s house a few years ago and found out that jewelry making is not all that difficult for me! I love all the possibilities! I began by buying small amounts of supplies and making some jewelry as gifts and some for myself. Soon, I found that I couldn’t possibly use all the jewelry I would like to make. So I began making items with the thought of selling them at craft fairs. As I was discussing this with my husband, he suggested opening up a website since he had done this previously for his computer business. I tossed around a lot of possible website names and finally came up with Budding (my husband’s name is Bud) Jewels (jewelry). It combines my two loves!
I have really enjoyed where this journey has taken me. It has stretched my creativity and my confidence in myself and my jewelry. I encourage others to use their talents for their own enjoyment and the enjoyment of others!
