Stoneware Clay Pendants by Kathryn Depew: Textures

Kathryn Depew of Cotton Ridge Pottery (from Cotton Ridge Designs, LLC)

After admiring and collecting pottery for several years, I had the opportunity in 2006 to begin pottery lessons. The feel of the clay immediately captured my imagination, and I was hooked! Later, the idea of clay pendants and earrings fired with beautiful pottery glazes came to my mind. Since that day I have learned that artists have been making clay jewelry throughout history! I am thrilled to continue this tradition, while using my own ideas and imagination.

My desire is to offer moderately priced jewelry for people who enjoy unique handcrafted pieces. Customer responses have continued to buoy my eagerness to explore the endless possibilities in shape, texture and glaze colors.

    Hi Kathryn,

I am a mosaic maker from Quebec, Canada.
Trying to make some ceramic pendant, I would very appreciate if you could tell me where did you find your stamps to do those beautiful pendand. Particuly the square ones.

    Thanks !

Hello Yvan, I apologize for the delay in my response! I found the square ones in a small rubber sheet in the clay/ceramics section of a craft store. I couldn’t find a name brand on the sheet, but it is about 4″ x 6″. Hope this helps!
