There’s no doubt that a kid’s room needs lots and lots of storage space to fit in all the toys of your child. Even when children become teenagers and all the toys are gone, they will still need a place to store all the clothes they own and maybe other stuff related to their hobbies. An extra storage unit is never redundant as long as you have space in the room to store items.

Hat Boxes

The good thing about this particular storage idea is that a hat box will serve both when your child still plays with toys and when he/she grows up. Depending on the pattern of a hat box, it can be suitable for a boy’s or a girl’s room. When you child is little, you can store some smaller toys that can fit in there. If you already have a teenage girl, she can store her nail polishes there, for example. A teenage boy, on the other hand, can use a black, brown or blue hat box to put his video games in it. Such boxes will rid you of the clutter and make items be found easier instead of having to look for them all over the place.

Photo Boxes

Unlike the previous type of boxes, which are round, these ones are rectangular, which makes them even more efficient since when placed next to each other, there won’t be any waste of space. Actually, photo boxes already come in handy in offices. What makes them even more convenient is that there is a special place to put a label in. Also, they come in many colours and patterns and are made of sturdy cardboard so that the risk of them falling apart is minimal (unless you overfill or wet them, that is). They are not only going to hide what doesn’t have to be on display but also look good.

Peg Walls

Now, this idea might seem a bit out of the ordinary, but that’s what we’re aiming for here. Usually, you see peg walls in workshops and garages, but they can be perfectly adapted to a kid’s room. Give them a layer of paint in the desired colour and put a few wall stickers that your child likes. Now you have an entire wall to hook shelves or baskets, and to just get creative. If you’re considering putting this idea into practice, make sure that you’ll have in mind your child’s age and safety.

Hanging Baskets

Hanging baskets are not expensive and come in different sizes. If the peg wall appeals to you as an idea, such baskets can be hung on it. Even without it though, the hanging baskets will prove useful. Whether toys or other miscellaneous trinkets, they all can find their place in the baskets. The best thing is that they won’t take any floor space.

Now that you have the basics, you can further develop those ideas and personalize them to your or your child’s taste. Give it a try and see where this thing can go.
