I’m excited to announce that I plan to teach two dollhouse scale miniatures workshops during Chattanooga Fun Day (TN) on April 27 – 28, 2012. The pictures above represent the workshops that I plan to teach as of this moment (subject to change).

Cotton Ridge Miniatures will also have a sales table. The sales room is open to the public on Saturday, April 28 from 1:00 pm to approximately 3:00 pm.

Workshop Descriptions

One Inch Scale Miniature Shop & Fixtures

All Day Class, $150

Participants will assemble and finish a one inch scale Houseworks Bay Window Shop Kit. All supplies needed to complete the shop inside and out will be provided, including paint, wallpaper, trim, molding and flooring. Also included are a large unfinished shelf unit and unfinished table that may be painted to match the shop’s interior decor. Round wire and tapewire will be provided to those who would like to electrify their shop (does not include transformers, plugs, etc., only the wire of choice). Finishing techniques will be taught and demonstrated for beginners, including aging and weathering if desired. Please bring a standard tool kit, including paint brushes.

Features include: sturdy construction of wood and MDF, pre-assembled panels, and windows and doors with Plexiglas™ inserts. Base measures 12 1/2″ W x 11″ H x 13″ D.

One Inch & Half Inch Scale Miniature Flower-Decorated Cakes

Half Day Class, $20

Participants will frost twelve miniature cakes in various sizes and decorate them with paper flowers. Participants will choose the frosting and flower colors. Includes the following one-inch scale cakes: one 4-tier wedding cake, two 2-tier cakes, four single-layer cakes. Also includes five single-layer half inch scale cakes (these can also be used in one inch scale settings.) All supplies and tools will be provided, including miniature doilies.
